David Solomon is an intern at the Hayek Institut/Austrian Economics Center in Vienna and a scholarship holder of the Austrian Academy of Sciences’ Study Foundation. He studies political science and Sinology at the University of Vienna. Having discovered an interest in economics in his early teen years, he wrote his Matura research thesis (VWA) on the economic reforms in Chile during the Pinochet era, receiving the WU OeNB Research Talent Award 2025. Apart from economics, history and politics, he enjoys reading, engaging with people of opposing views, travelling and hiking.
